Is This The Best Wall Hook?

nordicfunction-wallhanger-leather-800x800

I ask this question in all honesty because it seems to be to be a truth universally acknowledged that a single hook in possession of a coat will very shortly be overwhelmed by about 16 other coats and eventually fall of the wall leaving a socking great hole that no amount of filler will ever plug and therefore reducing the available space left to hang coats still further.

So when I saw this, which comes from Skandivis and costs £25.50, I thought it must be a good idea because it acknowledges that we will all try and put too much on a hook and this one gives us formal permission to do that. I can’t prevent it falling off the wall for you, but at least you can pile a couple of coats on this one and then add a hanger or two.

It’s Danish you see. They’re good at form and function. My hall hooks are all form and no function. Because the other truth that we universally fail to acknowledge, is that we all own more coats than we a) realise and b) admit. And as much as we say we’re going to put the summer ones in the wardrobe during the winter and vice versa, we don’t. Not ever. Which is another truth. Right that’s enough home truths for one day. I’ll see you tomorrow where you can find out about the ten best round dining tables as requested by many of you many times…..

  1. With apologies for lowering the tone, having thought “yes, this would look great in our bedroom” I’m now staring at the top pic and wondering if it looks like a stylised male appendage. The problem is, once you see that it’s really hard to unsee it.

Actually, perhaps that’s fine for the bedroom…

  2. The answer is YES. Wow, “right on the nose” post. Off to do the coat switch. Just kidding, ordering hooks by the dozen.

  3. Oh I absolutely love this Kate, thank you for sharing, they are exactly what I was looking for in my kitchen (!) but didn’t know existed!

  4. Kate, are you talking to me? LOL–I love the way you write, today it makes me laugh out loud cuz yeah, that’s me allright, right down to promising to put the summer coats downstairs in winter and vice versa!! Glad to know it’s universal….
These are great, almost too pretty to be hidden under all those coats!
    Have a great day-
