Black and White Crockery

This is the new collection from Sainsburys that will be in store by the end of February. Now you know I love a bit of black and white crockery and this, with its echoes of Marimekko, is stunning, not that I’ve ever used a tagine (I have a thing about fruit and meat) but it would look great just lounging about on the side.

But the plates and bowls are more everyday pieces. Now, you might not want the whole set – I agree it could be a bit much – but if you already have plain white or ivory crockery, then you could add in some of these to liven it up a bit. You could have plain dinner plates and the black and white side plates. Or just add the bowls and jugs to the mix.

Alternatively you can mix and match with other black and white sets in different patterns. The black and white stripes from Cornishware would work a treat wouldn’t they? And let’s not forget – just as black and white decor makes the other colours pop when it comes to your interiors, think of the food on these plates. How vibrant those peas would be, that pasta with tomato sauce. A veritable feast for the eyes as well as the mouth.

Sainsbury’s Arabian Nights Range will be instore from 1 May. Prices start at £3. If you wondering why I wrote this so far in advance it’s because, sadly, the launch date has been postponed.

  1. Oh my. I think I need these for our new chalet. They will fit in beautifully with the gray black white scheme. Thank you Kate !
