Black and White Inlaid Drinks Cabinet

I don’t know if it’s the tumultuous events of 2016 or just a fashion thing but the drinks trolley/bar cart is massively popular at the moment. Now that everyone has seen all of those what about this beauty I found the other day. It’s an inlaid drinks cabinet  – perfect for those who don’t want all those bottles out on display.

This black and white inlaid drinks cabinet from Westelm is also a rather beautiful piece of furniture in its own right. A few years ago there was a rush of bone inlaid furniture but the designs were more floral and not suited to everyone. This has a geometric pattern and the two doors are different from each other – perfect for those with a phobia of matchy matchy. Who? Me?

Of course it doesn’t have to hold drinks as perfect as it is for that – with its pull out shelf for mixing and cubby holes for glasses and bottles. I have just the spot for this in one of the alcoves in my sitting room but I keep the drinks in the kitchen. Mind you, I don’t have to. Perhaps they should move into the sitting room. And I shall buy a full length satin peignoir and float around mixing inappropriate cocktails at inappropriate times of day. Gosh I’ve sold this to myself already.

Mind you, it’s a pricey bit of kit, so here is a  slightly different but plain version in walnut and white lacquer if you fancy something a tad cheaper.

And, since these cabinets are from Westelm, I leave you with a shot of Wine Bunny by the brilliant Jo Robinson at Hammade whose work is currently adorning their windows for the London Design Festival. You can buy her cards and prints either from her website (the link above) or in store.
