Brass Side Table Update

I still love this side table so much. I updated this post to say that I had one in my sitting room. The plan was to bring it up to the loft but it’s so perfect downstairs I think the only solution will be to buy another. Or two, for each end of the sofa.

When I first wrote this, I was frankly, at a loss to explain why I don’t already own this. It’s brass (but also comes in copper and silver and teal, (TEAL for goodness sake) and somehow it has not fallen into my cart and proceeded thus to the checkout.

I have even been into westelm and stroked it but still not managed to make it out of the store clutching to to my bosom (that’s an expression, you know what I mean. I’m not actually in the habit of clutching tables to bosoms, although, given how much I love this one….)

There is a small, but totally invalid, reason why I haven’t yet bought it and that is because I don’t really, technically, need, another side table. See, like I said, irrelevant. I mean, according to my dearly beloved husband, I didn’t NEED the last six pairs of ankle boots or four handbags but they they have all found their way into my wardrobe. And very happy they are there too. Regular outings to Waitrose and the odd stroke when I wander past what more could a shoe want?

The thing is that now that we have finally bought a sofa bed for the spare room, and had shelves put on the walls, I can see that suddenly there is a HUGE GAPING HOLE, where a metallic side table should be. Two actually – I mean you need one at each end don’t you? In different colours, because I really do practice what I preach.

The only question is which colours? I mean brass obviously. White? I wouldn’t normally want the silver but look at it in the picture above. So beautifully styled. So perfect with that cabinet, perhaps I need that too. And, in case you didn’t know, 2015 is all about mixing our metals so we can totally have brass and silver together. You might want copper and teal or copper and white. Oh the decisions, the gut wrenching agony of knowing what to choose.

And the new collections are coming in. There might be new colours. Thank God we’re planning a loft conversion, I’ll need one up there two. Or failing that it will give me space to store them all.

Which one (two?) would you buy? They’re £129 or £109 for the ones in the sale, which isn’t copper, you might as well know that from the start.

And, in a very exciting update: I have one now *squeals*. And I LOVE it just as much as I thought I would. Here it in in situ with my favourite lamp from Uniche Interior Furnishings and my Art Rookie cup and saucer.

  1. These are fab! Teal for me. Or maybe the brass? Oh I don’t know, I think you’re right to plan to own a few of them….!

  2. Love! It’s all about the brass! I think I may just need one of these in a corner I didn’t know what to do with.

  3. I LOVE your taste in decorating! I fell in love with these a month or so ago here in the U.S. as well as their 90.7cm diam. x 24.77cm high etched metal in a silver finish coffee table. It calls out for the copper and brass end tables.
