When I designed my capsule collection for made.com I wanted it to feel like a complete set. A number of items that would all go together but work equally well if they were split up. I often do when I’m shopping virtually too. It’s a way of seeing what goes with what and what mixes with what you already have. Plus it’s more fun that way.
I have done the same thing with my browse around House Curious a gorgeous place in south London which runs cooking, photography and styling workshops as well as an online store to buy beautiful things. Here is my pick of five easy pieces which make a lovely collection together or any one of which you could probably incorporate into your existing decor to give it a bit of a Spring refresh.
So the rug is the starting point but you could sit either that fabulous leather deck chair ( I want that so much) on it as well as, or instead of, the gold chair in the top picture. Throw on a few cushions – plain velvet or perhaps that fabulous pink and green jungly one. And set it all off with the smoked glass and brass lamp.
I could find a space for all of these in The Mad House but if I had to pick just one. Or perhaps one to buy first? Well, the one after the leather deck chair? It would have to be a cushion. But don’t make me choose. If you don’t know the store then have a visit. The house is amazing too and has featured on these pages before. And no doubt will again.
Have a lovely day everyone. Today’s postcard was short and sweet to make up for yesterday’s mammoth faux plant post.
