Folding Shelving by Ambivalenz

Flexible furniture that doesn’t take up much space or can be easily stored is increasingly important as we live in ever smaller spaces. Or buy more stuff. Either way, there has never been more of a need for clever items that can adapt to our busy lives.

Take at look at these shelves. They’re made by German company, Ambivalenz and you can stack up to five at a time and then use them as needed. So the bottom one can be a desk and folds flat when you don’t need it. The others can store books, lamps, all manner of things.

As you can see there are different sizes and two colours so you can create exactly what you need for the space you have.

It works in the hall as you can see, as an impromptu table or desk and just for storage. It’s a German company but they do ship to the UK. The wall desk costs €215 and the slim shelf, which is perfect for a book is €155.

And when you’ve planned the perfect shelving system, you can play with the folding chairs too. Just prop them against the wall as art when you’re done. Or even hang them on the wall.

  1. Wow! We never seem to have enough space and I can see the chairs/artwork really working in my home office. Need an extra seat? No problem! And can you imagine the look on their faces as I take a picture from the wall and turn it into a chair?
