Industrial Mesh Cupboard

Given my design rule that every room should have a little bit of black in it, I wanted to show you a gorgeous cupboard today. It’s from Vincent and Barn and would be fantastic in a kitchen or perhaps a bathroom with towels in. Or even in a hall – imagine a pair of bright red wellies in the bottom. The 12-year-old had a pair of red wellies from Woollies (much missed and much lamented) when he was two. I made the mistake of buying them the day after I had bought him a fabulous pair of proper leather shoes for the winter.

Well you can guess the rest can’t you? He took one look at the wellies and wouldn’t take them off. For three months. Even in the house.  He wanted to wear them in the bath. By the time I had wrestled them off his feet, the leather shoes were too small of course.

Anyway, cupboards. This one is lovely. But it’s pricey at £825. So, you could find a cheaper wooden one and paint it. And if you were very handy you could create your own mesh doors. I am not and could not. Or you could buy this one from Ikea. It isn’t as nice but it is £150. You pays yer money and you takes yer choice….

There is no choice about black cupboards though. Those you need to have.

  1. I do like the mesh cabinet and it would look great in our new kitchen diner. Yep – it’s a bit pricey. I tend to shop around for good value furniture but really push the boat out on life long items like this cabinet that would last for years and would fit in so many diff locations. Thanks for posting.

  2. Great cupboard, see what you mean about money and choice, but thanks for including the cheaper IKEA version.
By the way you choice of chair for your study is the winner!
    Thanks for a great blog,
    Cheers
