Industrial Metal Clock

giant clock from cox and cox

I do love a clock. I have clocks in every room. Sometimes two. Now, it is true that the giant clock can be a bit of a cliche and there are clocks I love that I wouldn’t buy because they are ubiquitous. However, I will make an exception for this one. Why?

Firstly because it reminds me of a much smaller version I already own. I bought this one years ago and it is, literally, just a clock face with no frame or support. These days it’s rather bent and its timekeeping is an approximation rather than something to be relied on, but I have never found one I like quite as much.

Most of the time they are a little too cleaned up, too obviously distressed. But I like this giant one. I can see it in the loft conversion. Propped up casually against the wall. As if I had stolen it from the local clock tower (no of course I wouldn’t. Well my ladder isn’t tall enough). It mustn’t hang on the wall under any circumstances. That would ruin the look. Which is why it has to go in the loft. Also, please don’t put it in the kitchen either. That’s a cliche. Try the hall or the landing. You need to do something unexpected with it.

It’s from Cox and Cox by the way and costs £175.
