Join Me at Anthropologie for an Evening of Talking and Shopping

Well the headline says it all really. Shall I just stop and we can all go and make a cup of coffee? No? Ok listen up. Or perhaps should that be read on….

Anthropologie has long been known for its growing range of furniture and homewares (and clothes) but did you know that it also collaborates with designers – including its latest collection with Liberty – and sells wallpaper by Cole & Sons? Now to bring that all together the store has recently set up a number of in store Design Centres, where you can chat with the newly-trained assistants about how to put together a look and then shop directly via iPad and have everything delivered to your home.

To launch this new service, the store has asked me to give a talk on my Top 10 Design Hacks in the King’s Road store on Thursday 5 October (some of you will remember I did a trends talk there with Elle Decoration earlier in the year).

So, in return for listening to me for half an hour you get to drink Prosecco, meet the design team and, most importantly, shop with a 15 per cent discount. And one of you took advantage of this to buy a sofa last time so it’s a discount worth having.

Now before you start jumping up and down shouting at the screen I know that west London is a long way for some of you. Hell, I live in North London and even I feel it’s an expedition. So here’s the thing – if you can’t make it you don’t have to miss out on the discount. I have one just for you BUT it’s only valid for the two hours of the event so you need to bookmark this page and set an alarm because between 6.30pm and 8.30pm on Thursday 5 October if you type in the code ANTHROMAD you can have the discount and you don’t even have to get dressed and leave the house. Or listen to me talk come to that.

Having said that, I hope you will come if you can. It’s always lovely to meet you in real life and it will be a fun event. It’s free but you do need to RSVP so they know how much Prosecco to buy. Irritating if you just decide to turn up and they’ve run out no?

Also do let me know in the comments if you are coming so I know to look out for you on the night.

In the meantime here are images from the new collection. The Liberty collaboration is amazing. It was the biggest furniture buy they have ever done and the chairs have sold out already but they will be back in February. I sat in the sofa yesterday and it’s very comfortable. Yes it’s busy – that’s Liberty – but that patterned sofa in a navy or dark grey room with everything else pared back and minimal would look amazing. There are also collabs with the rising start Luke Edward Hall and some really cool chairs by Paige Gemmel – and if I hadn’t just wrestled my mother’s small sofa out from under her I would be giving serious consideration to one of these as a statement piece.

So have a browse, get ready to add to cart and/or I’ll see you there on the night.

  1. I couldn’t read your design hacks on your instastory is there a blog post covering it?

  2. Oooooh … so tempting … but sadly I can’t make it to the smoke that evening … but I’ll be checking in (and hopefully out!) online. Good luck with the event … Cheers Emma
