Lighting by Jonathan Adler

Jonathan Adler must be wonderful to meet in real life. He is clearly one of those people who always knows the right thing to say. Sadly I missed the launch of his groovy new London shop earlier in the year so I didn’t get the chance but today I wanted to give you his words of wisdom on buying lighting.

It is simply this: “Always buy a chandelier that is bigger than you think you need and more expensive than you think you can afford.

“And put everything on dimmers: you’ll look even richer, thinner and more glamorous than you already are.”

See! Genius.

That’s all our shopping needs justified for the next … oooh… ever. Wonder if the same applies to Marni ankle boots…

These foxy little numbers are from Adler’s new collection. I love all that sleek brass and glamorous 1970s vibe don’t you?
