Mad About… Decorex

Some of you may have noticed over the last few weeks that I have been carrying the Decorex logo at the side of the blog and I have been happy to be a supporter of this interiors show, which this year, is at the beautiful Syon Park in west London.

Decorex showcases the luxury end of the market and some of my favourite exhibitors are included in this post including Ochre (pictured below) and Tom Faulkner (above).

In addition to the returning exhibitors, including SCP, Pinch and Zoffany, the show will have 100 first timers this year of which Liberty Art Fabrics, Interior ID and Bluebellgray are just three that you might be familiar with.

The thing I’m most looking forward to though is the entrance. Decorex always makes a big feature out of the entrance (and rightly so) and this year, in homage to the Georgian building in which it’s set, various designers have been asked to come up with their own version of the Hogarth series of paintings A Rake’s Progress.

So Nigel Coates will create The Levee; Fromental and Russell Sage The Orgy; with De Gournay designing The Marriage; Harlequin London and Martin Kemp The Gaming House; Shaun Clarkson creating The Prisonand Timorous Beasties and Retrouvious focusing on The Madhouse. I can’t wait to see.

Also, if you’re planning a visit don’t forget the champagne bar. Always a vital stop when touring the luxury interiors market I find and this year designed by Les Trois Garcons so that will be a treat in itself.

All the details of the pictures above are in the captions. Have a lovely time and perhaps I’ll see you there.
