Nothing I like more than a virtual browse around a new shop on a Saturday morning. Coffee in one hand, mouse in the other (a plate of toast and marmalade nearby) and not forgetting slippers firmly on feet because it is, probably, raining out there. And if it isn’t it’s definitely cold. So it’s virtual shopping for me.
Say hello to Atkin & Thyme. When I first clicked on the link I thought “oh I’ve seen all this before and then I went in a bit deeper and realised that actually I hadn’t, apart from that inlaid chest of drawers that has been around for a while now. The rest of it is basically new and delicious.
I’ve rounded up a few of my favourites here. The founders, Victoria and Nick, source from artisans who make in small numbers so you won’t walk into everyone’s house and see exactly the same thing.
“During our travels, we saw skilled artisans at work and were inspired by the passion and care which they put into each handcrafted piece. It became clear that the quality and originality of these pieces was what was missing from so many of the items available on the high street,” says their blurb.
“It is for this reason that each piece in the Atkin and Thyme range is handmade using traditional methods. As the designs are handcrafted, it also means that each piece is entirely original – something we know is important when you are designing a room as unique as you.”
There are lots of lovely things on the site; if you don’t like these then do go and have a browse around on your own.
Have a great weekend.
The table with the cyclically legs is pretty awesome!
That glass console table! I am looking around my house trying to find a spot for it. The Barcelona dining table; the copper light – I could go on….great assets to any interior!
Me too – I love the round wheels – it should go in a hall in a sort of ironic nod to all the people who store their bikes in the hall.
