Objects of Design #305: Hourglass Martini Glasses

And a Happy New Year to you all! Aren’t these glasses great? They have a sandtimer in the base which lasts for about ten minutes. When the sand runs out, drain the glass and turn it over for the sand to run back, before tipping it back over and pouring a refill. Such a fun idea and perfect for New Year’s Eve.

They remind me of Karim Rashid’s Happy People glasses, which can be turned in either direction depending on what you are drinking. I saw them years ago in a magazine and it took me ages to find them (they weren’t labelled in the picture) and now I think they’re practically impossible to get hold of.

But perhaps I shall have these martini glasses instead. They cost around $74 for a set of four.
