Objects of Design #311: Chevron Side Table

Geometrics are going to be big this year. Apparently. Anyway, whether you are one for trends or not, this inlaid side table from Westelm sure is purty isn’t it. The UK store should be online soon so shopping nirvana could be just one tiny, dangerous little click away.

A domestic detox isn’t just about throwing away all the rubbish, although that is certainly part of it, but also about taking stock of everything you have and getting rid of the pieces that aren’t either beautiful or useful. The aim would be to make everything you own conform to both of these rules. This table might just do that.

Finally, this rather lovely geometric cabinet will be in Habitat stores sometime over the next few months. I hate it when magazines show you things that you can’t buy INSTANTLY so I didn’t make it the focus of this piece, but I have included it partly so you can believe in my geometric trend predictions and partly because it is lovely and I want it. Can someone remind me about it when it eventually lands in the shop please?
