Look it’s January and everyone’s miserable and I know you’ve probably given up drinking. And eating. And enjoyment. But hell, I think it’s time to give up giving up and to have a little fun. And perhaps a dash of fantasy shopping.

I came across these gorgeous pieces by Simon Hasan who graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2008. He mixes historic techniques with industrial design to create his unusual products.

I just love those decanters in the top picture and, while I’m not sure how much light they give off, these pendant lights would be pretty stunning in a home office wouldn’t they?

Bermondsey stools by simon hasan

The stools above were cooked into shape using a process that was originally created for making medieval suits of armour. It’s also available as a bar stool. Finally, this chair was commissioned by Poltrona Frau and Wallpaper* magazine for its inaugural handmade issue. Isn’t it fabulous?

So do you feel better now? You might not be eating much in this month of denial but these pieces are a feast for the soul aren’t they. Enjoy for tomorrow we detox, domestically that is. Which is a lot more fun than the other sort.

If you do want to buy then the wrap decanters are available at SCP
