I was introduced to this company last week after I wrote about Offkut and their rather lovely wood and brass lamps made from reclaimed materials. Shortly after the post went live up popped Richard and Andrew from Salvation Furniture wanting to show me their furniture.

I immediately went off for a browse – as you know there’s nothing I like better than finding a new store, site or company to discover, and this is what I found. Nice innit?

The boys have been scouring skips and auctions for years bringing their finds back to their Suffolk workshop and deciding what to make. After a while the houses of friends and family were full of their pieces (I know, why don’t I have friends like this?) so, over a few jars at their local hostelry, they decided to turn it into a business. This is also a brilliant example of an idea found at the bottom of a beer glass that actually comes to something. I have found several down there over the years but I have to say that in the cold light of a Sunday morning they have rarely amounted to much.

The wood is found, but you can have the steel legs powder coated in the colour of your choice so if you like your industrial furniture a little less raw then that’s an idea to consider. Then it would go rather well with these chairs feature a couple of weeks ago.

Salvation launched last year and they are already busy with orders coming in from all over the UK. Andrew used to organise vintage fairs as well but has had to stop as they don’t have time any more.

Benches start at around £250 rising to around £725 for a table.
