This cupboard is a rather fabulous combination of old and new; the birch unit has been wrapped in a linen-backed map of the UK and then lacquered to preserve it and the wooden areas have been finished with teak oil.

The Queen Anne style legs are painted dark grey bringing another subtle contemporary touch, while inside there are two shelves near the top leaving storage space for larger items at the bottom.

The Mint List is rapidly becoming one of my favourite places to browse. A collection of vintage and one-offs, tiny boutiques and small design studios, it’s like a perfect Sunday morning stroll through the back lanes of the small town that you imagined in your dreams, but which has all but disappeared from the real world and can now only be done in cyberspace. Plus you get to have coffee at the same time.
