Today we are going to have a little Sunday morning browse around Ghost Furniture, a company that “brings furniture back from the dead and makes it hauntingly beautiful”.

It’s run by Di Overton and Harvey Roll from their home in the North Tyne Valley, Northumberland. After nearly 30 years in the advertising business and owning wheredidyoubuythat.com, a luxury lifestyle online shop, they decided to leave the city and start a new life making things.

In addition to Ghost, Di also writes the wonderful Designer’s Block blog which is one of my favourites.

But back to the shop. Everything is painted using dead flat matte paints that the couple source in France and have specially mixed. As Di says: “It’s not shabby chic. It’s quality upcycled chic.”

Here are just a few examples of their work. I love the wit of the cocktail dress chair and the concrete tassels on the screen. For more details on any of the items, just click the image.

What do you think?
