Objects of Design #16: Baguette Tray

No-one has a board large enough, or should that be long enough for a baguette, and given that as soon as you start to slice them they go stale, then one of these is rather an essential in the kitchen. Although having said that, it’s also great for antipasti, as one or two of these down the middle of the table at least means that everyone can reach an olive or a slice of chorizo which, in turn, saves that mildly embarrassing thing of having to reach past someone to grab a bite. Or worse, in my view, of missing out altogether and having to take refuge in one’s glass of wine, which, without the accompanying nibbles almost always leads to disaster.

See, one of these wooden baguette boards has practically saved the universe. Or at least the dinner party.
