I am a huge fan of the Moomins but have tended to steer clear of the mass merchandising revival for reasons which aren’t even completely clear to me. Yes, I admire the mugs, quite fancy a shopping bag and would eat cereal from a bowl but, despite the great designs, nothing has felt completely “must have”.
And then I saw this. This, people, is the Moomin item I must have. Now perhaps it’s because there is suddenly an autumnal chill in the air. Perhaps because it’s monochrome. Perhaps, because yes I do love a Moomin. Probably for all those reasons.
And do you know what else? It’s £57 which is really not a bad price either. Hurray for the Moomins. Now, perhaps as I’ve got this far, I could just add a little mug to the order…
Brilliant post, Moomin mad in the household – it;s my birthday next week and this is going straight on the list! it’s super. There is a lovely independent shop in Shrewsbury that stocks some lovely quirky moonmin pieces – for whenever I need a fix!
