Objects of Design #196: Any-Mal Stool

decorate it anyway you like
decorate it anyway you like

A clever idea from the Netherland for today’s Object of Design. This stool, or you can buy a table, comes with a chalkboard at one end so your child can decorate it anyway they like. Yes, furniture that is supposed to be drawn on.

is it a duck? or a cat? or a shark?

You can buy the whole set and they can turn it into anything they want.

This works particularly well as they can then sit down and draw. But it makes a good mountain too.

The manufacturers call themselves NOtoys because they believe that the fun is most often to be had in the playing rather than with the specific object. So their products are designed to be practical as well as encouraging play.

encourage them to use their imagination

There’s a great little video on the site if you need some more inspiration. They do ship to the UK and the stool cots €45 and €95 for the bench.

just make sure they only draw on these ones
