Objects of Design #205: Curve Hanger

This isn’t necessarily an idea for a children’s room but would work well in any space where there isn’t much room for a wardrobe, or perhaps in hall, where you don’t need to hang much, or, in fact, in a kid’s room as they don’t usually need to hang that much.

I spotted it on the wonderful designboom site and just had to share it because I think it’s so clever.

Basically it has rubber feet on the top and bottom so you can prop it up against the wall (and move it easily if necessary) and there’s no need to fix it permanently, making it also handy for rented accommodation.

As you can see from the pictures, there’s enough space for a few hangers, a hook for your keys and also to hang a bag or two.

It was made by Thai designer Kittipoom Songsiri from layers of plywood that just need to be glued together, thereby reducing the need for more materials.

Sadly I’m not sure it’s for sale yet, but if I find out it is, I shall definitely buy one. In the meantime, I featured this one from clippings.com earlier in the year.
