Objects of Design #213: Personalised Light Box

Now I hate to mention the C word – shall we call it D (for December instead) but wouldn’t this make a great present? And frankly not just for children. A solid oak light box that can be personalised and that doubles up as a night light or even a bedside light for reading.

I’m certain both my children would want one but actually I’m quite keen too. They’re made in Portugal, hence the rather esoteric choice of names above and below, but I found them at that great Molly-Meg site I told you about the other day.

They come in varying sizes and the smallest can take about six letters. Simply choose the word and the font when you order. If you can’t decide on the font, then Molly Meg will help.

Click the images to be taken to the shop. The small ones cost £110 and the large £119. They will take about three weeks so if you’re thinking about the D word then better get on with it.

Now … what word shall I have? What would you choose?

And while I’m here, these lights are the perfect curtain raiser for the next series of Objects of Design which is all about fabulous lighting. Check back tomorrow for the first one.
