Now I don’t know about you but at this time of year a little festive holiday spirit feels like the right thing of a cold winter’s evening.

Mind you, these days I tend to prefer my cocktails of the non-alcoholic variety (I only really drink water, wine and coffee) but I’m a sucker for a pretty product and this is one of those.

It’s available from Rowen and Wren in the UK, but it was invented in the US by Eric and Josh, who make up W&P design, which is now based in Brooklyn.

As their site masonshaker.com says: “The concept for the Mason Shaker was developed from an obsession with vintage kitchenware (Josh) and an uncanny ability to fashion impromptu drinking tools at a moment’s notice (Eric).

“After one too many mint juleps poured from a poorly-modified Mason Jar one summer, the idea for a better (and cooler) cocktail shaker hit us like a double shot of bourbon. The Mason Shaker was born.”

It’s great isn’t it? So much nicer than those stainless steel ones which look like small rockets or missiles. At least mine does. I have included both UK and US stockists (see how thoughtful I am) just in case any of you feel like doing a little festive shopping.

I certainly wouldn’t mind finding this in my stocking on Christmas morning.
