Objects Of Design #327: Pressed Glass Storage Jar

airtight and tidy
airtight and tidy

I am slightly fanatical about storage jars ever since we had a mouse (well probably several if I’m honest) in the kitchen. It’s a slightly occupational hazard for anyone living in London, but in addition to that, shelves full of glass storage jars means that not only is the food in an airtight container, but you can also see at a glance how much is left. And it looks good too.

The largest one of these is 14cm high so they’re not really for flour, pasta or cereal but they are perfect for those little bags of nuts and raisins and things like that that always rip as soon as you open them and a peg over the top isn’t really sufficient to keep things sealed and airtight.
