This month’s Objects of Design series is based around the finishing touches and final details that turn a house into a home. This pretty glass jar would look great on a kitchen shelf and could be used, as the name suggests, for juice or water, or even for a bunch of spring flowers of which I have seen a few beginning to poke their pretty faces out despite the never-ending winter.

I have to say, I’m a sucker for a carafe and have several on my kitchen shelves from simple mezzo litro versions found in all Italian restaurants, to a pair of vintage lemonade bottles which I found in a shop in Oxford. I have been known to ask restaurant owners in Italy if they will sell me their carafes (while my husband winces in the corner) although sadly I have yet to succeed in this plan.

So, in the meantime, I give you this, which is at least for sale. A good starting point as it turns out.
