Sometimes an idea is so simple and perfect that there is almost nothing to say about it. This is one of those ideas. And I have to say when I realised the little cut-out at the end was for hanging glasses I practically fell over in delight. That is what this series of objects of design has been all about – the fine detail. And this book rest perfectly exemplifies that.

I may buy the purple one as I have purple wallpaper by my bed:

a purple bookrest for a purple wall?
a purple bookrest for a purple wall?

Or perhaps the black one to go with the bedside table, which I know you can’t really see in this picture but is the round Kartell Componibili or, of course, the black bed, which is from Ikea. It’s also a brilliant idea for anyone whose children wear glasses as they are always being mislaid, or moved by someone, according to who you believe.
