goes inside or outside

Another month, another series of Objects of Design. In May we’ll be looking at gorgeous things for the garden. Or roof terrace. Or balcony. However big or small your little outside patch there will be something to fit in it. From pots for the window sill to sofas for the verandah. It’s all here and it all adheres to, as usual, the William Morris saying that it should be either beautiful or useful. And often both. Start dreaming now – given the weather it’s all we can do at the moment.

This is the chair I want to be sitting on in the garden this summer (should the summer ever arrive). Made from vintage fibreglass, it’s a mix of retro pop colours and glossy futuristic  feel. It’s quite low and snug and is both comfortable and supportive. It’s been sprayed in scratch-resistant sports car laqueur making it really weatherproof, although frankly if it were to turn up in my sitting room it wouldn’t look out of place.

    1. Well yes it would but I think anything would look good against your concrete walls and cedar decking frankly! Sounds amazing.
