Nests of tables have tended to be regarded as a a little naff over the years, particularly the tall spindly ones, but, when you think about it, they’re a completely practical solution for gardens.

This set from Indian Ocean, not only looks great, but each table will also double up as extra seating if preferred. And let’s not forget the all important space-saving issue that’s implicit in the design.

Designed by Tom Curtis, who joined the company five years ago, and who has a degree in set design, the tables are simple and striking and they are the ones I would like for my garden.

They’d look great with a tray of prosecco on don’t you think?
