I’m tempted to crack a joke about this bookshelf being dedicated to everyone who has ever tried, and failed, to hang a picture straight (that’ll be me) or to put up a shelf, but actually I love this rather too much to be rude about it.
It would make a great room divider and yes, before you all start shouting, I know that most of us don’t have rooms that big enough to need dividing, but you know what I mean. It’s sculptural and functional at the same time. Although having said that, it would work only for books or CDs. Ornaments and beautiful objets wouldn’t quite work at those odd angles.

This is a cheap 1:1 copy of the bookshelf called “Crash” for the company Sixinch designed in 2005 by the Austrian designer Rainer Mutsch.
Very disappointing to see that anthropologie works like this…
here is the original:

That is indeed a pretty direct copy isn’t it. Thank you for pointing that out. I will leave readers to make up their own minds.
This is great, love it! I can so see it in a modern all white loft with natural wood accents. But trying to get the books and bobs situated nicely on it would probably take awhile.
It may look like a random pile of planks, but I have a funny feeling that technically that was really hard to make! Its gorgeous!
