Painted Stools

I may have mentioned it once or twice before but I do like the idea of doing something unexpected in a room. I firmly believe that there should always be at least one element that provokes a remark. It’s not always easy to pull off but when you can that is the wow factor. And, let’s be honest, we’re all looking for a bit of wow factor aren’t we?

When I saw these stools, I immediately thought they were the perfect thing to add a little unexpected twist. Most of use tend to use plain fabrics and patterned cushions or curtains. We also tend, for the most part, to have plain furniture. But why not break that rule? These stools, which would also double up as occasional tables, will bring a great touch of fun and glamour to the room.

Obviously I like the black and white and the navy and white best. You wouldn’t expect anything different from me. Although, I could, at a push, find a place for the red and white one too. They’re from Feather and Black, cost £149 and are due in store next month. The one on the left would look great at the end of my charcoal sofa.

They’re made from fibreglass and measure 38cm wide by 44cm high.

Which one will you choose?

  1. I’d go for the one on the left. It’s actually the same pattern – ‘Circle of Life’ Moroccan-style tile that we’ve picked for our new downstairs cloakroom!

  2. The far right one looks bang on trend with it’s ‘house of hackney’ esq style but I like the one second left – classy oriental / dark take on william Morris ?
