Pixellated Pictures

mona lisa by Adam Lister

Now I don’t often write posts about “art”. It’s so subjective and nowhere is the phrase one man’s meat being another man’s murder more apt. However, when the creator of these emailed me to ask my opinion I was instantly taken and decided to make a rare exception.

Another exception was these fabulous minimalist fairytale posters, which I really should have bought by now. But back to Adam Lister, for this is work it is. There is a mix of postcard size versions or larger, limited editions.

And if you don’t want to buy them then you can pass a happy lunch hour (15 minute sandwich break al desko) guessing what they are. They’re not hard, but they are clever. What appeals to me, I think, apart from the is also the juxtaposition of such a modern pixillated technique being reproduced in soft watercolours.

I love how they’re all so instantly recognisable and yet so distinct. Each print is signed and numbered and individually wrapped. In addition to these, which are my favourites, there are also Star Wars, Superheroes, TV and Sports categories.

Which ones do you like? Most of them, by the way, also come as t-shirts. I think the Jaws one would be particularly good as a t-shirt. What do you think? Everything can be shipped to the UK by the way.

  1. love the mona lisa top one as that’s exactly how you feel when you go to view….rammed in with the crowd trying to get a glimpse as the real thing is SO much smaller than I envisaged!
