Steam Bent Wooden Armchair

Isn’t this a gorgeous chair? It’s new from Tom Raffield, he of the gorgeous steam bent lights and coat hooks which have featured within these walls before. It’s a sort of mid-century type style but with a, literal, modern twist.

The frame is made from sustainably sourced English oak and the seat has been upholstered in wool sourced from one of the last remaining vertical woollen mills in Britain. A vertical mill is one that completes all the processes from the arrival of the raw wool, through the dying, carding and spinning, to the weaving of the material.

The ergonomic arms of the chair have been steam bent from a single piece of solid oak and make sitting in this chair a very comfortable experience, says Tom.

It’s just begging to be sat in isn’t it? If you fancy a different colour you can contact them to discuss and all the measurements can be found on the site. The Arbor chair costs £1,250 including VAT. Now we just need him to make a sofa.

In addition to his pendant lights, Tom has also added these wall lights to the range and there is a matching floor light too.
