This rather fabulous light was designed by the cool brand Ontwerpduo in 2010 and now forms part of the &tradition collection. I’m thinking it would be perfect for the new loft which will have exposed roof joints, painted white, and an exposed brick wall, also painted white.
I’m not sure there will be enough head height for an impressive pendant light so this, adaptable, piece on the wall might be the solution. The industrial style should fit perfectly with the look of the room, but the soft green colour (I might spray it white) and soft copper insides give it a touch of grown-up glamour that is exactly right for the space.
There is a ceiling version for anyone who would prefer that – it can be assembled in four different ways – or this wall version that can be built in two combinations. Its branches are made from extruded aluminium tubes — strong and light — and the lampshades are spun from copper. The entire system is coated with a forest green matte lacquer.
The &tradition site is currently preparing for relaunch but you’ll need a week or two to save up for this one so keep checking back to see when it goes live.
