Oh I do love a clock. We have clocks in every room – two in the kitchen – and I would totally have another. By contrast, I never wear a watch, so am clearly not time-obsessed. Well not much. I am always early for everything and can’t abide lateness, but I don’t have a clock-ticking memento mori kind of thing going on.
Anyway, cod philosophising aside, where was I? Oh yes clocks. These are rather fabulous don’t you think? They’re by Leff Amsterdam and available to buy from Design 55, with prices of these ones ranging from £129 to £225.
My favourite is the one above. If I’m entirely honest I find the top one rather stressful. Called, unsurprisingly, Hazy, it was designed by Ivan Kasner and its blurred images are supposed to evoke a mood of excitement, imagination and illusion. As a glasses wearer, it just makes me panic that I’ve finally gone blind.
Mind you, it is the weekend, so perhaps it actually doesn’t matter exactly what time it is. I’m off to stare at the Hazy again and see if I can induce a little dreamy excitement into my day.
