Wall Luggage Rack

station-wall-rack-from cox and cox

I have always wanted a vintage wall mounted luggage rack; the sort that turns up on vintage websites having been salvaged from a train. But they’re fiendishly hard to get hold of and so expensive when you find them. These ones, for example, are reproduction and they’re still £360 plus vat.

Back in the beginning of the blog, about three years ago if anyone remembers that far back, the London Transport Museum had a few that it had salvaged from the Metropolitan line that I wrote about. They’ve mainly sold out now, although there are a few small and painted ones still available.

But then I found this one which is from Cox and Cox and costs £40 which is very reasonable and would be perfect in a bathroom. Or a hall. Or, given the price, both. I rather like the string instead of solid shelves too.

What do you think?

  1. I think £40 is a fantastic price! When I saw the photo I thought it was a genuine vintage rack. I love it. I want one for my bathroom. It would look great with towels on it!
