I am slightly obsessed with the weather. I love lying in the garden watching the clouds scud past or the sun filtering lazily through the leaves of a tree. I also love that peculiar stillness in the air just before a storm arrives.
I’m also quite partial to a clock. Not for any strange memento mori reasons but I find their faces pleasing. I currently have three in the kitchen although that’s partly because the cuckoo clock that I featured last week is waiting for the painting to be finished in the loft so it can move up there.
So this seems like the perfect object for me. A weather clock from Bramwell Brown which changes according to air pressure. I’d love an antique barometer but this slightly more fun don’t you think? A elderly cousin of mine (now dead but a sort of surrogate Grandfather) had a barometer and kept a special diary on his desk which was used only to record the weather. He had about 30 years worth of entries stored in a cupboard.
There are two sizes large is £360 and the smaller one is £275. Here’s a little 50 second video so you can see it in action.
