Wicker Chair

So I think we all need a sit down don’t we? Whichever side of the fence you are on (and let’s not get into that here) a nice sit down with a cup of tea/bottle of Gin, depending on your preference and time of day, is always a good idea.

I have been waiting to write about summer furniture and barbecues and all things hot and jolly for weeks but every time the sun comes out for ten minutes and I think we’re there, it disappears again in another downpour.

This is the perfect solution. It’s a summery chair that can live indoors. Perhaps you have a conservatory, or a sun room, or a covered deck. Even an area to sit in the kitchen, in which case you can move the current wintery upholstered chair into the spare room and replace it with this for the next few months.

This is the chair of Summer. The chair of Fortune and the chair of Feeling Better. In these uncertain times we all need a chair like this.

  1. I love wicker if theres suitable cushions and throws about, if not I hate it, I really can’t stand sitting on bare wicker.
I wish there was more variation in the types you get though, all too often its the standard rattan, when hazel and cherry woods are a much richer alternative.

  2. I love wicker! We have a glassed-in entry with just enough space for two chairs, giving a great view over the yard and pool. Perfect spot when it’s too cold or windy to actually sit outside but you don’t feel like being stuck indoors. There we have two chairs from Lamu, Kenya, intricately carved by hand, brought back as checked luggage, with cane backs and seats, so they are nice and cool. The arms have extensions that swivel out, so you can prop up your feet. I adore them.
