Competition: And The Winner Is …

Graham! Lucky Graham gets to select the cushion of his choice. He was picked because I used the random number generator here  and typed in the number of comments – 28 – and it came up with number 16. Graham was the 16th comment on the piece. I should add that had my son’s number come up, he would have been automatically excluded as standard competition rules do not allow for any employees of Mad About The House, or their relatives, to win.  I hope that’s legal enough for you, and by the way, as ever the judge’s decision is final!

Hopefully Graham will send us a lovely picture of him and his chosen cushion very soon.

Thanks to everyone for entering and to the lovely Quirk and Rescue for offering such a fab prize. I, for one, am looking forward to series 2 of the cushions.

It’s Competition time again people so pay attention because this is a good one.

cushions from quirk and rescue: which one will you choose?

Those clever people at Quirk and Rescuethat’s Ms Pink and Mr Black to you ( well and me  too to be honest) have come up with this rather amazing set of cushions inspired by music they have listened to down the years.

Will it be punk?

And now they are offering to give one of these beauties away to one of you lucky readers. All you have to do is comment in the space below and tell us which cushion you like best. Ms Pink said that was enough. I think you should work a little bit harder and tell us why? Or name your best song but I am not in charge. Well not entirely anyway.

Pop cushion: hooray for Duran Duran and Madonna

So there you have it. The winner will be chosen at random and you get to pick the cushion you want.

here’s hoping this competition really rocks (sorry)

Seemples? Which one will you choose? You should also know, by the way, that they retail at £55 so this is a good prize indeed.

get you funk on (all right they haven’t done a freak one yet)

And, if anyone’s interested: my favourite? Well I do love the punk (I own that one) and I adore the Pop (big fan of purple) and I’m rather partial to Disco too (owning up here: I have that one too). Full disclosure? The first was a gift and I liked it so much I bought another one.

So off you go, you have seven days (until next Thursday lunch time) to add your comments below and may the best cushion lover win.

  1. The Punk cushion’s definitely the best because the colours are the most eyecatching (and my husband’s an old punk at heart…..)

    1. GET OFF MY BLOG AND GO AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK! To the rest of you, my son will clearly not be eligible for this competition.

  2. I’m gonna be uncool and go for the disco one. Couldn’t stand disco back in the 70s and 80s but quite like to boogie to it now. Plus the orange and ‘DISCO’ logo looks good …

  3. I can’t believe I haven’t seen these cushions before! They are fantastic. My favourite is Pop – not just because I like pop music, but I love the design and the fact that the word “pop” is a palindrome:-)

  4. Has to be PUNK for me to be the bestest wife ever come Christmas Day, though a SKA one would have been perfect!

  5. Got to be D.I.S.C.O for me! And why? Altogether now, “D – it’s designer, I – it’s ingenious, S – super stylish, C – cool and comfy and O – oh oh yes it’s orange!”

  6. It has GOT to be Punk-my family and I listen to the sex pistols in the car and have done since I was a kid (god save the queen is my personal fav) plus I saw these cushions at an exhibition and thought they were awesome!

  7. This is really difficult as I know very little when it comes to music. However I do know that I love green and if I don’t win this funk-y cushion (See what I did there!) then I shall be putting it on to my ever growing Christmas list! Now regarding music, does Rolf Harris fall under the category of funk? Oh hang on I have lyrics entering my head, “right about now, the funk sole brother”, oooh yes I like that song, hmmm who’d have guessed I liked funk? Oh and I don’t have a Funk DJ partner… hope this doesn’t go against me!

    1. Hello Graham, mad about the house is pleased to announce that you have WON!! Hurray. *wild cheering and clapping*. One Funk cushion will be making its way to you shortly, courtesy of Ms Pink and Mr Black of Quirk and Rescue.

  8. I have the worst taste in the cheesiest, poppiest pop. Has to be that one, really…
*wanders off humming Rock Astley choons*

  9. The difficulty is that they’re all great in their own way! Aside from the music, there’s something brilliant about having a squishy cushion called ‘rock’ so that would have to be my fave…

  12. The pop cushion is perfect. Pop is uplifting, joyful and carefree. We should all be like that! Great website.

  13. My favourite cushion is the ROCK cushion, I love ‘Meat Loaf’, ‘ZZTop’ and ‘Guns & Roses’. The ROCK cushion would be a lovely reminder of my Fathers past career, as a professional bassist and guitarist. He’s really appreciate seeing that on one of my black sofas at home. All f the cushions are absolutely gorgeous mind you! I think they’re all brilliant!
