Hear that sound? That sort of rattling and clinking sound? That is the sound of me breaking out of my comfort zone. It’s not something I do very often and is definitely something I should do more of. And it came about because of a curved sofa like this. I have a friend (well I like to think I have several actually but that’s beside the point) who freed me.
Now this friend, who is in the middle of a mahoosive house renovation, said to me that she rather fancied a pair of curved sofas for her sitting room. I did that kind of side eye thing while nodding vigorously in a fabulous-idea-why-didn’t-I-think-of that kind of way and privately thinking “help”.
I don’t know why I thought that. As I say comfort zones and all that. Anyway, I resolved to completely ignore her if she was intent on such a foolish errand. I would help her with lights and rugs and beds and stuff but she would have to find her own folly that was the curved sofa.
And then I started looking. And almost immediately I found two. And I love them. And now I want a curved sofa. I mean I need a room to put them in first, but suddenly they are making all the L-shaped modular sofas look clumsy and ungainly. These are cocktail sofas for fabulous sitting rooms. Well, for houses with one sitting room and one family room perhaps.
But oh this is the new fantasy sofa. And, appropriately for such a fancy piece it comes only in gold, grey, ivory and black. I mean.. and before you start I don’t want to hear any of that practical stuff. Not today. The world is being a bit rubbish at the moment, allow me my fantasy moment. And while we’re on the subject why don’t you all share your fantasy furniture below. Until I found this mine was a dumb waiter running between kitchen and bedroom. Oh and a laundry chute. Both of which are quite dull in comparison to this I feel.
