Five Easy Pieces: Easter Bunnies

So I don’t normally get all cutsie and Easter about these things but these are, as the song goes, a few of my favourite things and they just happened to have bunnies on and one of them was for a good cause so it seemed appropriate for the time of year. If you’re trying to buy things that aren’t chocolate or, hell, just for the cuteness here are five easy pieces – the bunnies.

I’ve been a fan of Thornback & Peel since the early days and always love seeing their new collections. This tea towel isn’t new but they have recently launched a collection of mugs and, as I’ve said before, a tea towel and a matching mug is a great little present. You can build it out with some lovely biscuits, nice coffee and even a fancy teaspoon and there you go.

This lamp is another of my favourites. Abigail Ahern updates her Debenhams collaboration every year but the hare (yes not technically a bunny) with its pink shade remains a stable of the collection. New this season is a giraffe wall light and a puffin table lamp. Yes they’re fun for kids’ rooms but actually I think they’re good for adult rooms as well. If everything else is a bit serious and grown-up then stick one of those quietly in the corner – not centre stage where it will shout – but just casually to one side and it will add some fun and wit to the space.

Another long time favourite are the fabulous graphic bunnies by Jo Robinson of HAM who has collaborated with The Body Shop to create a limited edition of activist bunnies for their Forever Against Animal Testing campaign. The gift box includes a print and a product and encouragement to sign the petition. Or, if the holidays are dragging and there’s too much sugar going on you might just want to take refuge in the wine-tasting bunny mug. I have that one. It’s useful.

A sea of gorgeous pink and greys but you can just see the grey rabbit print cushion which is so pretty against the blush velvet. Bunnies may come and go, pink velvet seems to be here for ever. Now, it’s just a thought but there are so many cushions around and I know I have said changing cushion covers just for Christmas can be fun so can adding in a few bunnies for Easter. The cushion, which is filled with feather down, is £40 but you can buy new covers for much less than that. So perhaps, if you are entertaining, or hiding eggs around the house, then this might be a good place to hide one under.

Lastly, a rabbit mirror – it won’t hurt their teeth and it’s £12.99. So there you are – a few ideas that aren’t chocolate-based. If you fancied them.

  1. If only you had made these gorgeous suggestions earlier Kate we could have purchased them in time to give as Easter Gifts. The mugs in particular are fabulous!! Make a note next Easter please.
