Five Finds

Time for this week’s new discoveries hunted out for you by The Designshopper. I hope you like them.

To start us off, we have this rug from Woven Ground which is part of the new collection. Called Ombre, it fits with this year’s dip dye trend, which I wrote about a couple of weeks back. They’re made from 50 per cent wool and 50 per cent viscose and the effect is, as the website says, lovely and buttery as there is a very slight shimmer. Prices start from £715.

Next up, in honour of the fact that this week, I am in New York on blog tour, we have an item from the Big Apple. Well actually it’s from BHS, but hey, let’s not quibble. Prices start at £30.

Now it’s back to rugs again as Nina Campbell has just launched her first collection for Stark carpet and while the colours are subtle, the pattern makes it anything but.

In a slight departure from the usual soft furnishings, this week we bring you taps from the new Aston Matthews collection. The design is so simple it won’t fight with any other decorative touches, such as tiles or towels but it’s very clean, minimal lines, also work as a statement in their own right. They’re also stainless steel, which is lead-free. Prices start from £1,272 for this wall tap.

And finally, the days are getting longer, although at the time of writing not any warmer, and when I saw these pretty starlights from John Cullen, I thought they were so pretty I had to show them to you. Even if the thought of having dinner outside makes you shiver. One to aspire to perhaps. They cost £50 each.

So there you have it, which is your favourite this week?

  1. I love the bedset from BHS, must remember to check their site again in a week or so. I wonder if you can get the lampshade too?
