Dropping by with a quick postcard from Objects of Design for you today. These pretty jugs and trays are hand-painted stainless steel and, at 18cm the jugs would double up brilliantly for vases of flowers or even bunches of herbs sitting on the worktop as well as utensils by the hob or sink.
The trays are 32.5cm in diameter and are great either for carrying things to and fro or for leaving on the worktop with herbs and oils on, for example. That way they’re in easy reach of the hob but the mess from peppercorns and the inevitable oil dripping down the side of the bottle is kept away from the worktop. And that’s always a consideration if you have wood or natural stone – both of which tend to be grumpy about such things and mark at the slightest provocation.
So the question is which colour? I love the dark grey but since I included some blush pink in the kitchen I have been rather enjoying a glimpse of red tomato tins as I walk past the newly painted larder so I might pick the mulberry and or the mustard because that too is lovely with pink. What about you?
They are from the Satara range at Nkuku, which works with artisans from all over the world creating products using traditional methods and natural materials.
Painting the kitchen sage green this weekend so I’d go for the red one.
