One of the questions I am asked almost more than any other is where to find bar stools. Everyone who is redoing their kitchen wants an island and everyone wants a stool to put at it. And so many of the bar stools out there are just horrible.
For years we had two old Singer sewing machine stools which we inherited from my in-laws but then one broke. The 14 year-old is blaming metal fatigue. I blame the 14 year-old for swinging on it. But *big cleansing sigh* we managed to find a substitute in the end. Those Singer stools are now as rare as hens’ teeth and twice as expensive but we found a couple of great little stools from eBay in the end for £60.
So, to cut a long story short, when I found these I thought I’d better pass them on. Odds are that some of you are looking for new bar stools as we speak and these are rather gorgeous. They come in two heights: 685 or 775 and lots of different colours including black, tan and dark green leather with a choice of wood for the footrest as well.
They are made by Danish firm Overgaard and Dyrman and if I could justify new kitchen stools in any way, shape or form, I would be looking at these. You might need to visit Dodds and Shute for a UK stockist.
I bought then resold bar stools (and then had to get rid of the island).
Some look great, as you say, but they are not comfortable for anyone with back issues, I think.
I’m about style+comfort.
Really lovely, especially in the green.
Love the black leather stool. I have been searching for months as due to weight, itsy bitsy wooden stools may suffer from fatigue too in our household.
Just in case anyone is interested the price per stool is £1,057.00 plus VAT.
*GULP*
Couldn’t agree more about the kitchen stool thing. There are a lot of really horrible products out there. Stylish leather ones are particularly hard to find at a reasonable price.
Folding too?
