Lindsey Adelman Brass Lighting

I first came across Lindsey Adelman’s name last year but it’s only now that I have found time to have a closer look at her work and it’s very beautiful. I particularly love the Blow Sconce below. A wall light or a ceiling lamp it would be like having a large brass cloud on the wall.

It’s also perfect for anyone who likes an overhead light but doesn’t have high enough ceilings for a dramatic pendant. I love the tin ceiling in my kitchen but might have used one of these if it had been around when I was doing this room.

On the other hand, if you do have a high ceiling then you can create this beauty. It comes in a variety of colours; white, black, aluminium but brass is best.

Adelman has also come up with an ingenious idea; make your own. Each piece costs $225 and you choose how many you want and how you want to assemble them. It’s a light for a lifetime, but, on the other hand, you could probably buy new parts as you went along if you decided to change the shape or wanted it to be bigger.

She’s based in New York and her work is both timeless and fun, classic and playful. These lights would fit in any interior from grown-up study to casual kitchen and marry with everything from modern to antique.

When I win the lottery (or stop buying shoes) I’m definitely going to put a Lindsey Adelman light on my list.
