Mad About … Black and White Geometrics

Two of the hottest trends at the moment are black and white and monochrome. Put them together and you get one of my favourite styles of all time.

The joy of a monochrome base is that it goes with everything. You can keep it very minimal and Danish by sticking to that simple palette or you can soften or zing it up with flashes of muted colours or strong neons.

stylLook at the last three images to see how a flash of old gold, or spicy Moroccan prints look great or just a simple grey wall with natural wood.

But if you’re not in the business of ripping up your existing flooring to replace with cement tiles, then there are plenty of smaller accessories around that you can use to bring this look into your space.

This is one of several black and white patterned rugs from Urban Outfitters. And don’t forget the Stockholm rand from Ikea, which I’m sure you’ve all seen. Or take a look at Madeline Weinrib who has dozens of beautiful rugs, cushions and runners that if you’re thinking of investing you should definitely take a look at what she has.

Another rug that seems to be doing the rounds of interiors and lifestyle magazines is this one below. It’s the souk rug from Westelm and costs £499. They also have a pretty good selection of geometric cushions too, most of them under £35.
