New Shop Discovery: Hone

Today I wanted to tell you about a new site that has launched that is geared towards making shopping easier as it helps you to search for the item you want and gathers a selection of them all together in one place so you can easily see what’s available and, crucially, not feel that you’ve forgotten to look somewhere.

Fed up with having 47 tabs open on her computer, co-founder Tanya Sanyal thought it would be much easier if there was one site that would bring together as many brands as possible from high end to high street with as many independents as she could find together in one place.

The result is Hone. So if you are looking for a yellow sofa you simply go the sofa section, type in the required filters and – eventually, for the search is a little slow as they have only just launched – you will be presented with pages of yellow sofas at a huge range of price points with retailers including made.com, John Lewis and Houseology as well as The Conran Shop and Anthropologie. I was shown 150 of them in my search with prices starting at around £200 from Maisons du Monde rising to around £3,500 for a Muuto sofa available via Houseology.

Clever innit? There are also other features such as being able to create moodboards, or look at collections created by designers and, crucially, set price alerts so you will receive an email if something goes on sale. There are 400,000 products and over 100 brands there.

The other thing is that it will, apparently, get to know your tastes the more you use it so that the searches will refine themselves the more you use it.

So if you’re fed up of endless browsing through sites, or aren’t sure you’ve managed to do a comprehensive search this might just be the answer.
