This is the new wallpaper collection from Galerie which was inspired by the mechanics of the industrial revolution.
It comes in a palette of metallic copper and gold tones alongside flashes of black and burnt orange and te 15 designs include vintage maps, typography and steam-powered machinery.
They call it steampunk, which is one of those words that I had to look up as I’ve never been entirely sure what it means. So, ever the intrepid investigative reporter I, er, googled it. And, apparently, according to Wikipedia (which isn’t always right) it is a sub genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery, especially in a setting inspired by industrialised Western civilisation during the 19th century.
So now you know. Wallpaper then. I like this balloon one below. It costs between £37 and £39 a roll. Now it’s just a question of where to put it. I’m on the hunt for some new wallpaper but it must be mainly navy blue so if any of you have any suggestions, I’m all ears.
