Objects of Design #327: Upcycled Parquet Coffee Table

Now if you popped in on Monday, you will have seen that I was discussing my new sofa (see how quickly we have moved from fantasy to reality) and how the current incumbent was a little large for the space.

This is, in fact, because much of the space is taken up by a large coffee table. I love a large coffee table. There has to be room for books, feet, small children to have tea in front of the telly (occasionally) a couple of glasses of wine and (even more occasionally) a small grey cat.

This one is made from recycled parquet flooring which is a completely brilliant idea. It has been restored and relaid in the traditional herringbone pattern and manages, with the addition of metal legs, to look both industrial and refined at the same time.

What do you think? A smaller version is also available as well as lots of other restored and painted furniture. The site also talks about tables made from reclaimed doors, which is exactly what I want for my desk in my fantasy office, but I couldn’t see any on the site. If that tickles your fancy then I’m sure you can contact them.

  2. Hmm is anyone else experiencing problems with the images on this blog loading?

I’m trying to determine if its a problem on my end or if it’s
the blog. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
