I first wrote about the Danish company OYOY a few weeks ago (here) and when I saw their new catalogue I thought the pictures were great so I wanted to show them to you.

Now, yes, I appreciate they’re a little more pastel than we’re used to see over here on Mad but at the time of typing, the rain is lashing against the windows and the wind is beating against the walls and looking at these is making me feel warmer. And hopeful that one day my Spring will come.

The name OYOY is inspired by the letters OY, which, since 1929 has been written on every Danish aeroplane regardless of where in the world it may be located. The letters indicate that it’s are a Danish company.

The company’s chief designer is Lotte Fynboe, who is inspired by shapes, graphics and colour and her motto is “less is more”. Many of the products are redesigns of her childhood memories.

“The simple things should have one colour stroke, which should be seen and give the product edge. The things we surround us with should make us happy and give us energy,” she says.

You can find many of the pieces at Story North.

I love the blush pink and grey combinations and the strong shapes which are reminiscent of that other great Danish company Ferm Living
